More than 10 tons of food donated

To the editor:

Food Pantry of Wasilla would like to thank our supporters at the Alaska State Fair in palmer. Thanks to you, our neighbors and friends, we collected:

• Thursday, Aug. 22, opening day, 10,871 pounds of food in about two hours. Fantastic! This was done with help from the MY House crew. Thanks to you for that help.

• Saturday, Aug. 24, we collected 9,351 pounds. Thank you BP for your support.

That’s a grand total of 20,222 pounds. Wow!

This is a tremendous boos to our food pantry and will assist many of our neighbors in need not only here, but across the Mat-Su Valley. The staff and volunteers of the Food Pantry of Wasilla, and those in need, thank you for your support!
