Morning delivery resumes

Beginning next week, Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman readers will be able to rise and shine with their favorite local newspaper again.

After a year of afternoon delivery of the Tuesday and Friday editions, the Frontiersman will be back on newsstands, in coin racks, and in home delivery tubes by 5:30 a.m. all three publication days.

The change comes in response to readers and advertisers, who expressed a strong preference for a morning paper, especially on Fridays, when weekend sales are advertised.

“You spoke, and we listened,” Frontiersman publisher Mark Kelsey said. “This is really about customer service and responding positively to our readers and advertisers.”

The change in delivery times will bring additional benefit to Frontiersman readers in the Talkeetna area. Instead of distributing just the Sunday edition to racks and dealers, as has been the case since May, the delivery time change will allow all three editions to be distributed in the northern Susitna Valley.

“We are thrilled to be able to fully serve our Talkeetna-area readers with all the local news others are accustomed to seeing three times a week,” Kelsey said.

The change in delivery time will not affect the Sunday edition, which remained a morning paper after the move to afternoon delivery a year ago. The Tuesday, Nov. 4, edition of the paper will be the first one distributed under the new schedule.
