Christa Hayes is a wonderful teacher and force in the field of Physical Education. Mrs. Hayes teaches not only with passion but with purpose. My children have participated in cross-country and JNYO before and after school with Mrs. Hayes. They have learned how to be a team player and encouragers. They have learned the importance of grit and responsibility and having the best time through it all. In the classroom Mrs. Hayes plans Alaska specific units such as mushing unit during the Iditarod, climbing Mt. Denali in the fall which my children rush home to tell us about. Mrs. Hayes also celebrates movement and inspiring students through the 100 mile club. My kids get so excited sharing their mileage card they complete towards their goal. She an amazing teacher! We are grateful to have her as part of the staff at Machetanz Elementary!
