Congratulations to Lauren DW Luchsinger Fox, Twindly Bridge Charter School seventh-grader, this week's Mat-Su Borough School District Student of the Week.
Lauren wrote and published a 90-page chapter book aimed at fourth- through sixth-grade readers titled "Chaderick: Not a Vampire, Not a Zombie, Not a Superhero." Assigned as a yearlong writing project, Lauren has actually been working on the book for two years. Writing the book was a yearlong process and publishing and marketing her work took a second year. Her parents report that her marketing efforts include a website - ChaderickTheBook.weebly.com - arranging a book signing at Pandemonium Bookstore, and asking friends and family members to read and review her book on Amazon.com. Selling through Amazon, the book is included in a special promotion.
The book is described at Amazon: "When a mysterious new villain stumps the heroes of Hero Town, Chaderick sets out to solve the crime. Unfortunately, Chaderick has no special powers, no status, and no experience. Making matters worse, Chaderick can't seem to shake off Hole, the relentless chipper sister of a superhero who always wants to tag along. Will Chaderick ever become the hero he knows he can be?"
Twindly Bridge Charter School principal and Mat-Su Borough School District congratulate Lauren on her early success as a published author.
