MTA Foundation announces opening of 2021 scholarship application period

MTA Foundation, a non-profit organization that serves to grow talent, promote technology awareness and boost economic development and entrepreneurship throughout Alaska, has announced the opening of its Scholarship Program application period for 2021.

Each year, the MTA Foundation awards a variety of scholarships (ranging from $2,000-$5,000) to support students through an education honing their technological, business and entrepreneurial skills. This program is designed to encourage individuals to pursue a variety of educational goals, including: First-time college students, returning students; students participating in a vocational program or homeschool program’ students pursuing professional development that leads to a degree or certification

“We believe the opportunities of tomorrow stem from the innovations of today, and our community and members are filled with untapped talent and potential,” Michael Burke, CEO of MTA said. “MTA’s focus is always on growing our local economies and ensuring their future success, and we are honored to extend these scholarship opportunities to do just that.”

In 2020, more than $75,000 was awarded through the MTA Foundation Scholarship Program to help sustain and prepare Alaska’s next generation of technology and business leaders.
