MTA retirees mark more than 252 years of service

Matanuska Telephone Association retirees met at the Valley Hotel April 29 for a reunion luncheon. Organizer Linda Bergman said the group plans to meet monthly, with the next luncheon set for noon, May 27.

Pat Lawton worked at MTA for more than 16 years, starting in 1963, a decade after the co-op was formed. She said there wasn’t much for phone service in the Valley before MTA.
