PALMER — A four-vehicle wreck on the Glenn Highway’s Knik River Bridge injured no one, but resulted in a couple of tickets Saturday.
According to a press release from Alaska State Troopers, the wreck was reported at 12:41 p.m. on the bridge, which is near Mile 30 of the highway.
“Joel Irwin, age 29 of Wasilla, was traveling northbound on the Glenn Highway and lost control of his 2010 Toyota SUV on the icy road and initiated a series of motor vehicle collisions,” according to the press release.
One of those vehicles was apparently an unregistered commercial vehicle with Kenneth Vernon, 48, of Wasilla, at the wheel. He got one of the tickets. The other went to Irwin, who was cited for not exercising due care to avoid a collision.
“Three out of the four vehicles were towed from the scene and no injuries were reported. All (occupants were) reported to be wearing their seatbelts,” according to the press release.
