Each year, executives and staff at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center award outstanding recognition to one clinical manager, one non-clinical manager and one employee as Employees of the Year. This year’s respective winners are Nancy Munson, Robin Thompson and Ron Nelson.
Nancy Munson, an employee since 1988, is the director of the clinical laboratory. She is an active member of the Quality Improvement team, the Wellness Committee and the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) team. Nancy leads by example and sets the standard for other directors to follow. She is extremely fair to her employees, works well under pressure and is responsive to requests from other departments.
Robin Thompson, a member of the Mat-Su Regional team since 2003, is the business office director. She also manages hospital admissions, emergency room admissions, payments and receipts, and patient/physician relationships. Robin has initiated procedures and practices that save time and improve processes for patients and physicians in the hospital. Robin believes “in doing the right thing,” is dedicated, loyal and an advocate for her employees.
Ron Nelson, a hospital employee since 2001, is the lead certified nurse assistant (CNA) for the day shift in the Medical/Surgical Department. He assists the nursing staff to deliver high level care to patients. Ron has been selected twice as Employee of the Season by his directors and peers. He treats patients like family and is mentioned often as one who “really cared for me” in patient surveys. Comments about Ron’s outstanding patient care and customer service are repeated and numerous. Nurses who work with him say, “I can always count on Ron.”
Mat-Su Regional Medical Center directors and staff congratulate these three special employees for exemplary service toward the provision of quality healthcare to patients and their families at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
