HATCHER PASS — The Mad Hatcher Music Festival is Sept. 5 and 6 at the Mad Hatcher, 9351 Palmer Fishhook Road. The family friendly event includes performances by 12 Alaska bands representing a variety of musical styles, from folk and bluegrass to classic rock cover bands.
The festival begins at 6 p.m., Friday when Hot Dish Bluegrass will take the stage. They will be followed by Ryan and the Jambusters; Braided River Band; and Hog Heaven String Band.
Saturday the music continues at 1 p.m. with Melissa Mitchell and Spiff; Danger Town;Andy Mullen 3; Diana Z Band; Jon Dykstra;Naked Mable; and No Wake.
Admission for the weekend is $20 and children 12 and under get in free. The venue includes a full-service restaurant with wine and beer service and camping on site also is available.
