WASILLA — The Musk Ox Farm is hosting a special concert event featuring The Super Saturated Sugar Strings called Musk Sugar Ox Magik Friday, July 22
The well known Alaskan band has performed at the farm before, and Musk Ox Farm Director Mark Austin is eager to see them return. He noted that this will be the first time they’ve held a major concert on the property since the pandemic started, adding to the overall excitement.
“We’re super psyched to have them back. They’re a fantastic local talent,” Austin said.
Austin said they’re also preparing for the 20th Annual Running of the Bulls event in August. He said they had to hold a virtual event in 2020 and held an in-person/virtual hybrid in 2021. He said they’re planning to hold the event in person with a virtual option again this year as people.
“Like everyone else, we want to see the other side of this thing,” Austin said.
The Musk Sugar Ox Magik event starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening. There will be beer and wine available throughout the event. Everyone under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and outside alcohol will not be permitted.
“We love the Musk Ox Farm! Making music in support of this important institution is enough to fill our cup! But when one of these ancient creatures ambles by the stage along the rolling fields with Pioneer Peak towering in the background, it gets magical! Our hosts transform the farm into a charming, chill summer oasis for the whole family,” The Super Saturated Sugar Strings posted on the official event page.
Admission for Musk Sugar Ox Magik is $25 for adults, $20 for children ages five to 17, and children under 4 are admitted for free.
