The MYFA Colony Knights fifth- and sixth-grade football team won the state championship Oct. 11 at Machetanz Field in Palmer. The Knights team beat the Anchorage Boys and Girls Club Mears Warriors 8-6 to claim the title. Head Coach Robbie Nash was assisted by Troy Martin and Spike Havel. The win ended a 9-1 season for the Knights. The team includes, in no particular order, Caleb Bailey (18), Isaiah Christy (72), Michael Conner (88), Austin Dean (41), Joseph Diltz (66), Michael Evans (15), Cody Gamble (20), Michael Hardy (65), Cade Havel (75), Martin Jones (31), Parker Kizer (45), Isaiah Kolendo (26), Collin Lamont (61), Marcus Lorentz (14), Nolan Martin (54), Dawson Nash (85), Jonathan Pomrenke (27), Luka Spaic (23), David Steward (96) and Jarret Villastrigo (34).
