• Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Jillian D. Peterson, daughter of Teri Miller of Big Lake and John Miller, of Fresno, Calif., recently reported for duty with Naval Air Maintenance Training Unit, San Diego, Calif. Peterson is a 2003 graduate of Yosemite High School of Oakhurst, Calif. and joined the Navy in August 2003.
• David and Carla Gagert are proud to announce their son, Casey A. Wheeler, has been promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
• Wasilla students Hannah Knapp and Tom Baker will perform in a series of concerts in South Dakota Nov. 21-24. Both students attend Valley City State University in North Dakota.
• Rachael Kenley received the American FFA Degree at the 83rd National FFA Convention in Indianapolis Oct. 23. It is the highest degree awarded by the organization and recognizes Kenley’s demonstrated leadership abilities and outstanding acheivements in agricultureal business, production, processing and service programs. Fewer than one in 154 FFA members advance through their local chapter and state FFA degree programs to earn this national honor. Kenley is the daughter of Charles and Carol Kenley and is studying agriculture communications at Utah State University.
