Enstar announced Monday consumers can expect a 16 percent drop in their rates in 2010.
This will translate into savings of $24 per month on the average residential gas bill, the company says in its press release.
The natural gas provider for much of Southcentral Alaska, Enstar ties its rates directly to the price it pays for gas through long-term contacts with its providers. As natural gas prices have dropped over the last year, the company will pass these lower rates onto consumers.
The rate drop is still subject to a vote of the Regulatory Commission of Alaska at its November meeting.
