Congratulations to Myriah Moore on the opening of your new business, Anything Goes Runway 49. The women's apparel and accessory store is located in the Key Bank Plaza in Palmer, and is open every day except Sunday. Moore's new store gives Valley women one less reason to make the trek to Anchorage and helps keep more shopping dollars at home.
For those who are still scrambling to find a place to watch the “big game” (Go Seahawks!) today, the Valley has no shortage of options. Whether you join the festivities at the Tug Bar at Goose Bay Inn, graze through the buffet at Nobody's Inn, host your own party or slip on down to the neighborhood bar, please play it safe. If you drink, don't drive. Designate a driver before the party starts.
Did I mention the Seahawks are playing in Super Bowl XL today?
Congratulations to Willow resident Roy Burkhart on receiving the Legislative Action volunteer of the year award from the National Rifle Association. Burkhart was presented the award last month at the organization's national board meeting in Arlington, Va.
Did you know the Seahawks finally made it to the Super Bowl and will be playing in today's game?
Expectant parents should check out the Birth Fair and Open House next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is hosted by the fine folks at Mat-Su Midwifery Inc., 2650 Broadview Ave., Wasilla. Call 373-3420 for more information.
And, finally, to the Seahawk faithful, enjoy the game today. I know I'm in good company, Robert Hall and Bruce Scott, to name a few. Watching the Seahawks play in the NFL's biggest game today will be exciting, but watching them win today will keep me on cloud nine for many days to come!
