New construction laws not needed

Private property rights, as we know them, are scheduled to end this legislative session!

You will be required to get permission from the state of Alaska to sell a house that you own and have built yourself. The process is almost beyond stopping at this point, but with enough objection by citizens like you who knows?

Two companion bills SB161 and HB81 seem to be gathering our representative's unchecked approval. This is because of the persistent lobbying of a few contractors who seem to feel threatened by homeowners who decide to sell.

It is an incremental approach to taking away a sacred right. A free society cannot continue with out private property. Our country was founded on private property. In fact the Declaration of Independence originally said “life liberty and property”

I only hope this letter catches the eyes of many, who would not be aware otherwise, of their plans for us.

Do you like the idea of asking the state permission to sell your house? The contracting community is obsessed with controlling this small amount of competition. Your silence will give the Legislature a green light.

Express your opposition asap.
