The retired school bus got a new coat of paint courtesy of Chaz Limited’s Dan DeGraffenreid and Charlie Eichler, along with Dupont, which donated the paint.

MAT-SU — Thanks to staff at Chaz Limited, an old school bus shared by a couple of local churches has a new look.

The bus is used to transport youth groups to different events, but state law requires buses that are no longer used at schools be painted another color on 75 percent of the bus.

So in October, painter Charlie Eichler and lead technician Dan DeGraffenreid at Chaz Limited’s Wasilla location donated their time to repaint the school bus.

Local paint supplier Hi-Tech also got in on the giving by donating materials for this project, including paint, car bags and pre-paint supplies.

Eichler and DeGraffenreid spent a Saturday morning at one of the pastor’s houses giving the old bus a new Kelly Green paint job.

Chaz Limited has shops in Anchorage, Wasilla and Fairbanks.
