To the editor:
We thank all those who helped make the whirlwind visit of the New Old Time Chautauqua last weekend a grand success for the greater Palmer community. Thanks to:
• The many families with kids of all ages who attended the workshops and turned the borough gym into a beehive of moving bodies and laughter of discovery learning.
• The full house at Saturday evening’s performance in the Palmer High gym that joined the joyful spirit of the event, whether they were younger than 8 or beyond 80.
The New Old Chautauqua performers are a group of 50 entertainers whose mission is to build community through laughter, entertainment and education. The many organizations that helped make the community aware that the events were happening include the Frontiersman, Make a Scene, KSKA, Country Legends, Alaska State Fair, city of Palmer, Palmer Arts Council, Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce, Friday Flings, Fireside Books and all the places where posters hung.
A special thanks to Sara Jansen and Janet Kincaid for their help in finding ways to best make these visitors welcome to Palmer.
