A Fairbanks man drowned in Diamond Lake in the Big Lake area Saturday.
The body of Arthur Analoak, 30, was recovered Sunday by the Mat-Su Dive Team, according to the Alaska State Troopers. AST and Alaska Wildlife Troopers assisted the dive team during the search.
Troopers received a report of a flipped canoe in Diamond Lake at about 7 p.m. Saturday. Analoak was not wearing a personal floatation device.
According to an update posted Sunday night on the Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team Facebook page, three people were in the canoe when it overturned. Two were able to make it to the shore, and not one was wearing a life jacket.
