WASILLA — A Kentucky man is missing in the Willow area.
A family member reported William “Bill” Hartlage missing just before 7 p.m. Thursday evening, according to the Alaska State Troopers. The 76-year-old Louisville, Kentucky, man reportedly had not returned from fly fishing at Willow Creek at the Susitna River, according to troopers. A search party, which included two boats and a helicopter, began the attempt to local Hartlage at about 11 p.m. Thursday.
“The search was focused north on Susitna River from Deshka Landing and east along Willow Creek. The initial search did not reveal any additional information and/or Hartlage’s location,” troopers said in the dispatch.
Hartlage is 6-foot-2 and 160 pounds, with grey hair and beard. AST said Hartlage wears a light brown fly vest and grey hip waders, and brown baseball cap with a yellow and pink lure attached.
