WASILLA — A person riding a bicycle is dead following an accident near Wasilla Friday evening.

According to the Alaska State Troopers a person riding a bicycle was involved in a motor vehicle collision at Vine Road and Raspberry Loop. The bicyclist was found at about 6:45 p.m. Friday, and the person was declared dead at 7:01 p.m. The deceased has been identified, according to troopers, but the identity has not released, pending the notification of family.

Troopers determined a Jeep sport utility vehicle was also involved in the accident, and the driver of the Jeep was arrested on a separate charge. Chris A. Anderson, 41, of Wasilla, had an active warrant for a probation violation. The original charge was a violation of a domestic violence protective order and violation of conditions of release.

Anderson was transferred to Mat-Su Pretrial and held on $100 bail.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the accident.
