A Wasilla man is facing charges of first-degree murder and second-degree murder after reporting that his wife had been shot.
Charles Doubek, 48, contacted MATCOM just before midnight April 25 and told dispatchers that his wife Marjorie Gardner, 54, had been shot. Alaska State Troopers forced entrance into a Wasilla residence and found Doubek barely breathing and Gardner deceased, according to an online dispatch published by AST.
Troopers performed life-saving measures and transported Doubek to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. Doubek was remanded and the murder charges after his release from the hospital.
