Our readers have responded so warmly to Peak Magazine, that, during this second year, we've decided to give them an opportunity to take part in putting a couple of the issues together. The first opportunity arrives with our January edition, when we'll name the person of the year in several categories -- and one overall person of the year.
We ask our readers to help us find the most influential people in the Valley by nominating the people you think deserve recognition. All you have to do is drop us a line with the nominee's name and a paragraph or two describing why they should be considered for the honor. Also include your own name and a phone number for confirmation or clarification.
The categories up for grabs are: Sports figure (an athlete, coach or other sports figure), Artist, Educator, Military person, Volunteer, Business person, Student, Military person, and Civic leader (politics, law enforcement, emergency response, etc.).
The nominee should be noteworthy, but can be either famous or infamous. Based upon the information we receive, we'll pick a winner for each category. Finally, we'll select an overall person of the year. We hope you'll help us recognize the most influential people in the Valley.
Send your nominations by Dec. 1 to Frontiersman Editor, 5751 E. Mayflower Ct., Wasilla, AK, 99654, e-mail them to editor@frontiersman.com or fax them to 352-2276.
