Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Anchorage resident Nora Christine Crawford, 32, died in Anchorage on Nov. 11, 2001.
A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 28, at Valley Funeral Home, 151 E. Herning Ave., in Wasilla. Pastor Phil Markwardt officiated at the service.
Mrs. Crawford was born Feb. 18, 1969, in Kern County, Calif. She came to Alaska in 1998 and resided in the Anchorage area. She had worked as a waitress at various restaurants in Anchorage.
Family and friends stated, " Nora loved her children. Kelsie remembers eating lemons together with her mom. Anthony remembers his mom's gentle care when he was ill. Miranda loved singing 'You are My Sunshine' and 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' with her mom."
Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Juanita Moore; grandfather, Albert O. Davis; and grandmother, Mary L. Davis.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Crawford; children, Kelsie M. Crawford, Anthony D. Crawford, and Miranda K. Crawford; father, Ronald Gary Grant; stepfather, Doug Moore; sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Tony Orr; brother, Keith Grant, and aunt, Sonnie Kellingsworth.
Memorial donations may be made to Abused Women's Aid In Crisis (AWAIC) at 100 West 13th Ave., Anchorage, AK 99501.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory of Wasilla.
