Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Norine June Jones, 78, died Aug. 25, 2005, at her home in Wasilla.
A service was held Aug. 31, at 3 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Bogard Road.
Honorary pallbearers were Dale Jones, Jay Jones, Roy Jones, Richard Best, Bill Rust and Michael Parker.
Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 17, 1927, in River Rough Line County, Mich.
She lived in Eagle River from 1959 until moving to Wasilla in 1974, where she lived the rest of her life.
Mrs. Jones ran her own janitorial service, from which she retired in 2003.
She belonged to the Mormon church and was a foster parent from 1965 to 1986. Ms. Jones enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing and helping others.
Her family wrote, "In loving memory of Norine Jones, devoted wife, loving mother, the perfect grandmother, adored sister, hard-working and a true friend.
"Norine always looked for a job that needed to be done and helped those in need.
"She kept herself busy and constantly went out of her way many extra miles to get the job done well or help in any situation, with a smile on her face and love in her heart to share with all she had."

Mrs. Jones is survived by her brothers, Fred Williamson and Larry Williamson; sisters, Betty Huber and Iva Burn; son, Dale Jones; daughter, Gia Parker; grandchildren, Jay, Tammy, Roy and Colton; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Elijah, Jayden, Nathan and Aaron, and adopted in the heart of her family, Tim, Karren, Jeremy, Ayla, Hanah and Lane.
