Wasilla resident Norma A. Rasar, 76 died Feb. 17, 2002, at home with her family.

A private memorial service will be held at the family residence, 2 p.m., Friday Feb. 22, with Pastor Duane Hanson of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Wasilla officiating.

Norma was born Dec. 13, 1925, in Australia. She came to America as a war bride in 1947, residing in Minnesota with her husband. The family moved to Anchorage in 1960, where Norma worked at Peggy's Airport Cafe for many years. Norma moved to North Carolina for a period of time, where she enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting and collecting antiques, especially dolls. Norma returned to Alaska in 2000 to live with her daughter, Mia, in Wasilla.

Her husband, Harvey M. Rasar Sr., preceded Norma in death in 1999.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Sandra and Doug Turn, and Mia and Richard Busha; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Rhonda Grahn; son, Wayne Grahn; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Family members said, "She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends."

Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home of Wasilla.
