HOUSTON — More than 50 drivers competed in the Alaska Motor Mushers Club vintage races last Sunday at Houston Lodge.
North Pole’s Kris Giani won a pair of races and was the runner-up in another highlight competition. Giani won the 0-340cc and 341-500cc classes, and was second in the open class. Chris Schachle, riding a 1981 Arctic Cat Panther, won the open class.
AMMC will host its next vintage race Jan. 16 on Knik Lake. The event will include a 1.5-mile closed course on the lake, a 100-yard side-by-side vintage drag races and 120cc Iron Pup Race.
