WASILLA — Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Northgate Alaska is hosting its annual Back-to-School Shoe Giveaway at its church.
Northgate is offering free shoes to any student in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District during a festive day supplemented by food, games and prizes. This event was created to help local families with financial struggles equip their students with school gym shoes.
This event is sponsored in part by Mat-Su Health Foundation and the Bombas apparel company.
Admission is free and children must have an accompanying adult. Those interested in attending can pre-register online at Northgate’s website to guarantee shoes upon arrival.
