Not as bad as I thought.

I finally got the nerve up to step on the scale this morning after my week of eating out in Anchorage.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that I hadn’t gained or stalled as I thought I had. I didn’t lose a lot, but I still lost. I’m down 19 pounds so far, which keeps me right on track to meet my 30 pound goal by April 8.

I also got some good news from the orthopedic doctor I finally consulted for my troublesome knee. Although there is fluid around the knee, there were no visible tears according to the MRI. I’m banned from exercises like lunges and squats, and from using equipment like leg presses, but I’m okay to walk and do leg lifts for the next 6 weeks.

Bill will probably be very disappointed to learn he can’t torture my legs for a while, but knowing him, I’m sure he’ll find a way to make up for it.

I’m back to eating healthy, although I skipped lunch today, which I know isn’t good. I’m eating lots of salads with low-calorie dressing and snacking on dried and fresh fruit. I’m even looking for ways to fit exercise into my every day routine. I had a meeting today and walked up and down the 3 flights of stairs to the conference room instead of taking the elevator, something I wouldn’t have even considered a few short months ago.

My clothes are fitting less snug, and some are even starting to get a bit baggy. This is enough to keep me motivated on my journey to a healthy new life.

I hope you’re all staying on track, and even if you did get sidelined, it’s never too late to get back in the game.
