WASILLA — A short investigation early Christmas morning netted Alaska State Troopers a pair of arrestees, a set of nunchucks and one switchblade.
According to a press release, at 2:21 a.m., troopers got word of suspicious activity on Lucus Road. On scene, they contacted Ricky Cunningham, 45, and Tessa Bear, both of Wasilla.
Bear was arrested on a warrant with original charges of theft and drug misconduct, but troopers added more charges to that list.
The nunchucks and switchblade were allegedly hers. That, plus the fact she allegedly gave troopers a fake name added up to a false information charge and two weapons misconduct charges. Her bail was set at $7,000.
Cunningham didn’t have any charges until he allegedly tried to keep troopers from arresting Bear. He picked up a hindering prosecution charge and $2,000 bail for his trouble. Both were jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.
As of Wednesday, Bear was still incarcerated but Cunningham had been released on his own recognizance.
