Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla homemaker Dora Marie Styles, 44, died Oct. 31, 2000, at her home.
Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 8, 1 p.m., at Kehl's Palmer Chapel. Mitchell Glover will officiate and the eulogy will be given by her son, Paul Weston.
Private interment will be at Dickerson Cemetery with her mother, Hazel Jones.
Mrs. Styles was born Dec. 6, 1955, in Alaska. She had lived in Wasilla, Mt. Edgecombe, and Palmer. She was a graduate of Mat-Su College.
She was active in the Mat-su Humane Society and the Salvation Army.
She enjoyed bingo, loved cats, camping, fishing, loved antiques, bike riding, enjoyed going on walks, loved computers, and enjoyed talking to friends.
Her family said: "My Aunt Marie from start to finish she had her head held high. My Mom was my inspiration - Timothy Weston. My Mom was my friend, advisor, and my most loved person in my world - Paul Weston. My Mom loved me unconditionally - Patrick Weston. My sister-in-law (Sis) became and was a very dear, loved person in my life who I loved unconditionally and she loved me the same as I her - Kathy Jones. My daughter, whom I loved dearly was my angel who tried and did, to love and watch over me - Smokey Jones. My mom was my caretaker and angel in my life - Philip Weston. Despite our differences at times, my sister Marie loved me dearly and I loved her as such in the same way. Marie was a very caring, loving person who helped and loved her family and friends."
Mrs. Styles is survived by her father, Sherwood (Smokey) Jones; brother, Selden (Chico) Jones; sister-in-law, Kathy Jones; husband, Jerry Styles; sister-in-law, Francine Garrison; brother-in-law, Wallace Styles; children, Phillip D. Weston II, Patrick D. Weston, Paul D. Weston and wife, Tina; son, Timothy R. Weston; aunt, Georgina Winzet; uncle, Everett Glover; cousin, Mitchell Glover; niece, Lynn M. Swanson; grandchildren, Tavish L. Weston, John Weston, Hazel M. Weston, Paul D. Weston II, and Patrick D. Weston II.
For Marie's love of animals, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Mat-Su Humane Society, P. O. Box 520208, Big Lake, AK 99652-0208. Arrangements were made by Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
