WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers have arrested 23-year-old Joel Serafin following a disturbance at the residence of one of Serafin’s family members, according to trooper dispatch.
According to KTUU, Serafin is a recruit officer for the Anchorage Police Department who was off-duty and had not yet completed training to become an APD officer. Serafin was charged with burglary in the first degree, assault in the fourth degree, and criminal trespass in the first degree after troopers discovered that Serafin had allegedly forced his way into the residence and then assaulted a non-family member.
Serafin was taken to Mat-Su Pretrial facility following the arrest and held pending arraignment. This is a developing story.
