To the editor:
The passage of HB110 oil tax bill in the Alaska State House of Representatives is landmark and deserves our attention. The visionary representatives who voted to help keep Alaska open for business need a healthy dose and recognition for their commitment and hard work. In particular, Reps. Stoltze, Feige, Gatto and Keller demonstrated the kind of thinking that I want to see from folks representing the best interest of Alaska and its residents.
I have a young daughter who loves this state and will more than likely make it her permanent home. In the recent past I’ve wondered what kind of future may be in store for her. This crucial step toward securing our future has worked to ease my mind a bit. The need to make Alaska a viable place to produce oil once again has never been so important and is the foundation of our future success.
In short, I appreciate the careful consideration that was given to this bill and I encourage the Senate to act swiftly and pass HB110.
