WASILLA – Alaska State Troopers say one man was transported to an Anchorage hospital with non life-threatening injuries following a plane crash at an airstrip near the Knik Glacier on Sunday.
Troopers said in a Sunday afternoon dispatch that pilot Bruce Junes, 60, of Anchorage was taken by LifeMed helicopter to Providence Hospital after the crash, which happened at approximately 12:24 p.m. Troopers did not offer any further details about the crash or whether Junes was taking off or landing the Stinson 108-3 he was piloting when the accident occurred.
A passenger in the plane was uninjured.
The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified of the accident. An FAA spokesperson did not immediately return a phone call and email Sunday night.
