WASILLA — One pedestrian was killed and another seriously injured Wednesday night while crossing the Parks Highway at Pitman Road.
According to an Alaska State Trooper press statement, Thomas Brass II, 21, oF Wasilla, was southbound driving his 1995 Chevrolet when he hit the two people, identified as Sally A. Chya, 36, of Wasilla and James A. Childers, 37, of Wasilla.
Troopers say Chya and Childers were taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center where Chya was pronounced dead. Childres went through surgery and is expected to survive, troopers say.
Troopers believe both Chya and Childers were drinking before the accident. They say Brass was sober.
