The governor has decided that elective medical procedures may once again be done by the medical community. Goody. Now, what about the rest of the economy? Why is it that the economy was shut down without consideration to the impact, but restarting it must be done incrementally . . . why is that?

Why is it that government will be the arbiter of who goes back to work and when?

We have gone from a relatively free and open society to a cloistered society where social interaction is condemned as inviting disease and disaster. This is not what we want for our families.

Yet, by all evidence, this pathogen is considered to be no worse than a bad flu season, in terms of its overall impact upon the population.

As of today (April 16), the total dead attributed to the COVID-19 is 32,917, 80% of whom are 65 or older. That’s if you can trust the figures . . . there is now a bounty being paid for COVID-19 diagnosis. Now, you know why the testing is going into overdrive across the country.

The federal government’s recent stimulus included payments to hospitals ranging from $12,000 to $300,000 per patient diagnosed with COVID-19. This is a powerful incentive to ignore the actual cause of death and to insure payment for any death.

It has been reported that hospitals are now reporting any death as COVID-19. Nothing like a profit motive to skew the facts and to promote the continuation of this pandemic ad infinitum.

In a paper titled “COVID-19–Navigating the Uncharted” published on March 26, 2020 in the New England Medical Journal, Drs. Anthony S. Fauci, H. C. Lane, and Robert R. Redfield expressed that if the actual number of asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic cases is several times higher than the number of reported cases, then the morbidity rate will fall to less than 1%. Fauci et al then further opined that would mean that the COVID-19 pandemic would have the same impact upon the population as a severe seasonal influenza.

An ABC investigative report published April 2d, found that during the period from December, 2019 through February, 2020, 759,493 people entered the U.S. from China. This included 228,000 Americans returning from China.

The New York Times reported on April 4th that another 40,000 Americans had returned from China after the Feb. 2, 2020 travel ban.

MSN reported on April 11, 2020 in “New signs suggest coronavirus was in California far earlier than anyone knew” that CA health officials have stated that evidence collected by the CDC and state and local health departments give reason to believe that the COVID-19 has been in California since December, 2019.

This means that there is an estimated 6-7 million Americans who have been infected with the virus. The probability of there having been at least 7 million cases by mid-March is further substantiated by the study by Drs. Jay Bhattacharya and Eran Bendavid, Stanford.

“Is the Coronavirus as Deadly as They Say” published in the Wall Street Journal on March 24, 2020. Bhattacharya and Bendavid posited that if the first infection was on January 1st, by March 9th, about 6 million Americans would have been infected. Therefore, if the virus first came to the U.S. in December, then the 7 million infected figure should be closer to reality.

According to the CDC the 2017-2018 flu season killed a total of 61,099 Americans, of whom 50,903 deaths were those 65 and older. The 2017-2018 deaths attributed to influenza are roughly 1.9 times greater than the current mortality attributed to COVID-19.

The 1918 influenza pandemic killed approximately 675,000 in the U.S. The economy was not halted.

Wars are fought to be won and there are always casualties in war. This one can only be won by herd immunity. Every year, influenza kills Americans. Every year, there is no shut down, no cessation of the economy.

The facts are this. This virus hits primarily the old, over 60% of those infected have been 60 and over. Approximately 98% of those dying are over 65.

Those vulnerable take it in stride, they know what they do to protect themselves. The CDC’s instructions regarding hygiene and precautions are the same for influenza as COVID-19.

The more we know, the more this reaction by government is so extraordinary in its draconian and dystopian agenda.

South Dakota and Wyoming are the exceptions amongst the states in following the recommendations for quarantine. Texas is also about to restore normalcy.

Gov. Mike Dunleavy, unless you can produce either facts justifying this affront to our Constitution, or a pile of bodies that has exceeded last year’s flu season deaths, then you need to release us to our lives and livelihoods.

What are we doing?

The price of oil is now 18.23/bbl on the world trade index.

Alaska must resume business.

Unfortunately, the rest of those out of work and those businesses that have closed their doors aren’t in the ‘elective surgery’ business. If Governor Dunleavy takes any longer in making a decision regarding opening up the economy, he might want to consider his decision regarding elective surgeries as prescient. By then, he will probably need a procedure or two, he will have aged that much.

Mr. Governor, end this, there is no basis in fact, nor is there any demonstrated evidence that this virus is as great a threat as has been implied.

Without an economy, we will have no health care industry, no public safety system, no judicial system . . . nothing, except misery and deprivation.

Stand Tall, and get with it, restore our rights, and our lives, Mr. Governor, now.
