Orchestra to perform

Friends of the Palmer Library is sponsoring a free spring concert performance by the Matanuska-Susitna Orchestra at the Palmer Depot at 2 p.m., May 1. The spring concert combines classic and contemporary styles. The orchestra also will repeat the performance for the Willow Arts Festival at 7 p.m., May 7 at the Willow Community Center. The performances also feature cello soloist Cealice Kennison, a graduating senior at Colony High, who will perform the second movement of Edouard Lalo’s Concerto in D minor. The group meets Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the United Protestant Presbyterian Church in Palmer. For more information, contact Kent McMartin 376-2850.
