WASILLA — Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School students celebrated Christmas mass Dec. 18 followed by a community brunch and a play, titled “Listening for Christmas,” written by fourth- to eighth-grade teacher Kathleen Yerbich.

The setting of the play was Wasilla Lake. The students played various roles, which included city workers, mayor and councilmen, cheerleaders, carolers and several iconic holiday favorites.

The characters had brief discussions about Christmas as they gathered around a replica of the Lions Club’s nativity scene displayed each year at Wasilla Lake.

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School loves to show its pride and support for the community, and more importantly, to give back to the community.

Wishing all a Merry Christmas and blessed New Year!
