WASILLA — The second annual Out North Fringe Festival will feature over a dozen unique events in art and film in downtown Anchorage throughout the month of April.
According to a recent press release, the public is invited to attend the various activities and workshops throughout the festival; and creative Alaskans are invited to participate in contests to "embrace the spirit of the fringe and unleash your creative imagination."
Out North is currently accepting proposals for upcoming events called Under: 30 and Fringe Film Nights.
Under: 30 is a showcase of original performance pieces that gives artists the opportunity to develop new work within 30 minutes.
Participants are challenged to bring their boldest and most innovative ideas to the stage.
All mediums of performance art are welcome to participate. There will be a $1,000 honoraria and tech support available to each selected artist.
The deadline for Under: 30 entries is March 1, 2023. The performance is scheduled for April 28 through April 30.
Fringe Film Nights is an opportunity for local filmmakers with ideas for short experimental films to enter for cash prizes.
The deadline for Fringe Film Nights entry is March 10. The film screening is set for April 15.
