The Palmer Amateur Hockey Association made history earlier this week. PAHA’s first all-girls hockey team, the Lady Pioneers U-14 squad, won its division during PAHA’s second annual No School Invitational Hockey Tournament. The Pioneers, coached by Tod Richards and Steve MacSwain, beat four Valley boys peewee teams en route to the title. The Pioneers scored a 7-2 win over the Junior Avalanche, a 4-1 victory over the Wasilla Wild, a 6-2 win over the Palmer Peewee Blue D and a 7-1 win over the Wasilla Wild in the title game.
