WASILLA — Paint Nights with Sara & Co. instructors are eagerly preparing for a full summer of youth summer camps, events, and classes for all ages and experience levels.
“Every day is an adventure,” Paint Nights with Sara & Co. owner Sara Squartsoff-McKinley said.
Paint Nights with Sara & Co. is celebrating the one-year anniversary of their new location within the plaza near Value Village off the Parks Highway.
Squartsoff-McKinley said they recently expanded their overall staff which has allowed them to expand their overall range of classes, adding weekly workshops such as Toddler Time and the Creative Kids Club. She said they also released the 2022 schedule for summer camp programs covering a wide variety of interests for each age group.
Squartsoff-McKinley noted that she’s currently working to add a new location in Anchorage by the end of the summer.
She marveled at how much her step-by-step paint instruction studio has grown over the years, especially since it was just her in the beginning. She said the continuous support and interest from the community has allowed them to increase their overall staff and their ability to expand their efforts outward and onwards, hence the name change from Paint Nights with Sara to Paint Nights with Sara and Company.
“It’s very exciting. We’re filled with gratitude. I’ve always enjoyed going to work and being able to create new things and always being inspired,” Squartsoff-McKinley said. “Our paint night instructions are step by step, but it’s just a guide to take people on their own creative adventure. So, it’s pretty fun to see people who are afraid to be creative think outside the box and make the painting their own. We have a wide variety of painters from people that are very good artists to people that have never painted before, and it’s a good time. We mix art and entertainment. There’s no right or wrong, but there’s lots of ways to have fun.”
