Paint Nights with Sara hosting numerous classes this week

WASILLA — Paint Nights with Sara, a local step-by-step art instruction studio, is hosting several classes this week, offering opportunities for stress-free creative expression for all experience levels.

“We always try to come up with new innovative ways to get people creative… Just a little bit for everybody,” Paint Nights with Sara owner, Sara Lynn Squartsoff-McKinley told the Frontiersman.

Paint Nights with Sara offers a variety of classes for all ages and artistic backgrounds. One of the driving principles of this establishment is giving anyone with an interest in trying out a painting session the opportunity to make their own work of art by participating in guided sessions led by skilled instructors.

“I just love seeing the surprise in people’s faces when they find out they can actually paint. It’s just really fulfilling and fun and makes us want to keep making designs,” Squartsoff-McKinley said.

There’s numerous painting sessions with different themes to choose from any given month throughout the year. Themes vary from pop culture characters like Pikachu from “Pokémon” to general seasonal topics such as winter snowmen, fall trees, spring Chickadees, and summer butterflies.

This week’s classes includes a variety of paint sessions. There will be a rainbow tree paint session held Thursday, Feb. 29 at 6 p.m.

There’s five different classes taking place throughout the day Saturday, March 2: a dream catcher themed paint class, a panda bear themed class, a “Bonsai Waterfall" paint class, “Into the Ocean” paint class, and “Butterfly Wishes” paint class.

There will be three different classes held on Sunday, March 3: a robot themed paint class, a “Happy Husky” paint class, and a “Jurassic Sunset” paint class.

All supplies for classes are included, but visitors are encouraged to wear suitable paint clothes or bring their own aprons.
