PALMER — Victims of theft at Palmer and Colony High Schools were returned their belongings the day that they were stolen thanks to work from the Palmer Police Department. Seven victims were stolen from in total in the consecutive locker room thefts from the high schools.
Kavontrae Brockman, 19, and Carley Kelly, 24, were both arrested in the Fred Meyer parking lot in Palmer on the evening of Aug. 22.
The report of theft was called in and video surveillance footage helped to determine who the police were looking for. About $2,500 in belongings was stolen and $2,000 worth has already been recovered. Police are still working with students from Colony High School to identify some of the stolen items. Brockman and Kelly took bags of clothes and cell phones. Police were able to ping the cell phones to the Fred Meyer parking lot and make the arrest. Both Brockman and Kelly were charged with one count of theft in the second degree, a felony. Brockman was also charged with providing false information.
