An arrest has been made in the horrific homicide of a minor over a month ago. On August 11, Alaska State Troopers (AST) responded to a residence in Wasilla for CPR in progress on a child. The child was transported to an area hospital and eventually succumbed to the injuries. An autopsy later ruled the death a homicide.
Jackie Caldwell and Sergie Krukoff were wanted in connection with the homicide and were believed to be in hiding as Troopers had asked for the public’s assistance in locating them.
On September 25, 2025, a Palmer Grand Jury returned a true bill on Caldwell, with multiple counts related to the death, including second-degree murder, criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child. They also returned a true bill on Krukoff for Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and arrest warrants were issued for both.
Two days later, on September 27, AST Patrol units located and arrested the pair at a residence in Wasilla. They were arrested and taken to Mat Su Pretrial for their warrants.
The investigation is ongoing.
AST would like to thank everyone who assisted in locating them.
