Palin needed female vote

To the editor:

I am impressed with the candidacy of Sarah Palin. Still very confused why she was not able to sweep support of American women discounting, of course, the rabid left wing groups. She is eminently qualified to be elected to a high office when compared to current occupiers of leadership seats in Washington. In boldly initiating reforms in Alaska suggested she may have adopted a strong spine associated with historical American leaders. This past election’s focus on the people of Alaska provided many favorable impressions for the rest of Americans.

Does the reluctance of women to support a woman suggest a problem with their own self-esteem to promote another woman by peers. An unusual woman who took the high road acting out her faith in bringing to term a child with Down Syndrome.

Then a woman who responded so well with only strong support of her daughter’s pregnancy. American women as the sole providers of life are conflicted on birth control and abortion while hanging tightly to belief systems and a political persuasion.

Some so tangled on the edge hypocrisy that self-esteem must take a hit. Palin seems genuine and appears to “walk the talk,” making slippery politicians very uncomfortable from both parties.

This very classy woman with strong leadership credentials and presence could make some liberal women feel insecure. While the most average men in politics are held to a lower standard, needing only a ready smile and appropriate hyperbole to be considered coolest of cool.
