PALMER — The Palmer Alehouse is kicking off its annual summer concert series May 3.
“We're excited about it. I think the whole staff is ready for the start of it for sure," Palmer Alehouse owner Cory Hughes said. “We're just really looking forward to having our summer music back.”
The Palmer Alehouse hosts a variety of Alaskan acts throughout the year with its indoor concert series in the Upstairs Lounge during the fall, winter, and spring before transitioning to the summer concert series.
Hughes said that hosting concerts is an integral part of their overall mission. He said it's a great way to bring the community together.
“It's a big part of who we are,” Hughes said.
The Ken Peltier Band starts off the 2024 summer concert series with a concert starting at 7 p.m. Friday, May 3.
H3 will keep the party going with the second concert of the season starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 4.
“It's gonna be outstanding,” Hughes said. “Ken and H3 are some of our most fan favorites so it's a great way to start the season for sure.”
According to Hughes, there will be several acts coming to their concert series for the first time such as The Avery Wolves, Black Barrell & the Bad Men, and Childish Tycoon.
Concert goers can also expect numerous returning acts such as Nervis Rex, I Like Robots, and Hope Social Club this summer.
“There's just a lot of really good talent," Hughes said.
All of the Palmer Alehouse summer concert series events are free to attend. Hughes noted that they're also planning to host separate charged events featuring visiting acts from the Lower 48 such as The California Honeydrops this season.
“It's gonna be a lot of fun," Hughes said.
