PALMER— The Palmer Alehouse Summer Concert Series is officially underway and bands from across the state are performing live on the outdoor stage each week.
“We’re back at it again,” Palmer Alehouse owner Cory Hughes said.
Nervis Rex kicked off the 2022 season Saturday, April 16. Hughes said they have a solid roster of new and returning acts scheduled throughout the summer.
“We’ve got a cool lineup going, everyone’s favorite bands,” Hughes said.
Hughes noted that they plan to take a break during the Alaska State Fair season. He said that will give them the chance to remodel the lawn area near the outdoor stage. He said their venue fits in well with the overall Alaskan Summer experience in downtown Palmer.
“It’s always the funnest time of the year,” Hughes said. “It’s become a staple in the community. The community is what makes the place. It’s become that expectation, that place to come.”
The Palmer Alehouse doesn’t skip a beat during the winter and features local artists weekly at the upstairs lounge.
“The music upstairs was a huge hit even more than last year,” Hughes said.
Hughes said they plan to host a beer garden during Who Let the Girls Out and plan to host live music all day during Colony Days. He said that following their posts on social media is a good way to keep up with their community events and activities.
“There’s always something going on,” Hughes said.
