This month’s Second Saturday Art Walk features Valley artists and musicians at various shops around Palmer from 2 to 6 p.m., April 11. The April walk includes:

Healing Path Therapeutic Massage

550 S. Alaska St.

Healing Path Therapeutic Massage will feature artistic jewelry designed by Judy Davidson of the Crown Jewels, which also will be available for sale, and special musical performance by Melanie Trost.

Two therapists also will be available for massage at the discounted price of $1 per min. The store is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 715-8748 for Pam or 715-8725 for Carrie to reserve your time. Register to enter a drawing for two 20-minute massages.

Shane Lamb Gallery

550 S. Alaska St.

The Shane Lamb Gallery will exhibit a show of photography by high school students from Mat-Su Central School in Wasilla this month. Last Frontier Magazine owner Cecil Sanders teaches the photography class. The gallery also will host a drawing from 2 to 5 p.m.

Palmer Museum

723 S. Valley Way

Palmer Museum will host a special reception for the artists of the exhibit, “Eggstravaganza,” a collection of egg-inspired artwork created by several Valley artists. Within the exhibit is “Paradox,” a unique interactive installation made of more than 7,000 eggshells. Stop by and meet with the artists from 2 to 4 p.m.

The museum also will host the band “No Wake” throughout the Art Walk and will serve light refreshments and appetizers provided by Turkey Red. Enter a free drawing for goodies from the Museum’s Gift Store from 2 to 5 p.m.

Vagabond Blues

642 S. Alaska St.

Vagabond Blues will host Meggie Aubie and friends: A Recital of Percussion Music at 4 p.m. Admission is free and guest performers include: Meggie Aube, Lene Kennison, and the Matanuska Beat: Bill Aube, Carol Ryan-Aube, Hillary Saffran, and Katie Rose.

Sally Hitchcock

Piano Studio

950 W. Edinborough Dr.

Sally Hitchcock has play and taught piano for many years. Her love of music has inspired her to offer a rare opportunity for the public by opening her studio for the Art Walk. Hitchcock will host three mini-recitals at 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5 p.m. where she will play selections from her oldest and newest solo books that she has collected over a course of 40 years.

For those lucky visitors who have a passion for music, Hitchcock will give away antique sheet music to people who will treat it gently. Tea and cake will be served during the recitals and Hitchcock will feature the artwork of Rose Hendrickson in her sitting room.

Magpie Clothing Exchange

This eco-friendly resale clothing store for women is a new addition to Palmer and is located just around the corner from Palmer High School off of Hemmer Road.

This month, Magpie Clothing Exchange is proud to host the Advanced Placement Art students from Colony High School. Students Ellis Barnett, Mikala Bracker, Katelyn Foster, Travis Kahahawai, Emily Levesque, Emma Petersen, and Denali Thomas will display artwork from portfolios that are to be submitted for national judging.

B Bella

642 S. Alaska St.

B Bella will feature the work of Palmer resident Patty Halley who is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has lived in Alaska for more than 20 years. She is a charter member of the Valley Fine Arts Association and a member of the Gallery Girls. Halley specializes in painting pet portraits in pastel, and she also likes to use the vibrancy of oil colors to capture the sense of grandeur and mystery in Alaska landscapes. She is also the owner of Arctic Belle Creations, specializing in producing Alaska-themed ornaments.

Arkose Brewery

650 E. Steel Loop

This month, Arkose Brewery will host its monthly event, “Beer Meets Canvas” from 2 to 4 p.m. Sip. Relax. Create. Cost is $30 and includes one pint of beer and art supplies to create your own masterpiece. This event is open only to those 21 years or older and pre-registration is required. Garden Gate will host local musician James Lasiter from 2 to 4:45 p.m.

This local upcycle furniture and apparel store will host local musician Devynn Maclure from 3 to 6 p.m.

Fireside Books

This local bookstore will be hosting “Canyons and Ice” authors Kaylene Johnson and Dick Griffith at 11 a.m.

Radio Free Palmer

716 S. Alaska St.

The local radio station will host a special art exhibit comprising artwork from students at Mat-Su College.
