KODIAK — The Palmer Moose edged Homer 44-42 in overtime during the first round of the Northern Lights Conference Championships at Kodiak High School on Thursday.
Homer's Dean DeVaney hit a three-pointer to give the Mariners a 37-35 lead with 18 seconds left in regulation, but Palmer senior Mitch Swetzof slammed in a dunk in the final moments to tie the score at 37-37 to send the game into overtime.
Palmer outscored the Mariners 7-5 during the extra period, and will move on to play either Soldotna or host Kodiak in the semis Friday at 8:15 p.m. at Kodiak High School.
