ANCHORAGE — The Palmer Moose earned a 73-65 nonconference win over the Anchorge Christian School Lions at Anchorage Christian School on Thursday.
Junior Bryce Jacobson led Palmer with 21 points in the win. Jacobsons scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, and was 8-of-9 from the free-throw line during the final eight minutes of play.
Junior Shaq Odom added 16 for the Moose, while senior Justin Draughon and junior Jake Hillis each added 11.
The win on Thursday marked Palmer’s first action since a Jan. 23 loss to Wasilla. The well deserved eight-day break came after a stretch in which the Moose played 10 times in 20 days.
Palmer returns to Northern Lights Conference play Feb. 8 when it hosts Homer at Palmer High.

Warriors move
past Wolfpack
ANCHORAGE— The Wasilla Warriors posted a 64-54 win over the West Valley Wolfpack during the second day of the Lady Lynx Prep Shootout at Dimond High School in Anchorage.
Wasilla (10-4) needed a second-half comeback to score the win over the defending Mid-Alaska Conference champions. The Warriors trailed 26-22 at the half, but used a 23-13 fourth-quarter run to secure the victory.
Junior Jenna Johnson was one of three players to hit double digits in scoring for Wasilla. The all-state guard led the Warriors with 19 points. She also added a team-high 10 rebounds and six steals.
Senior Shelby Fulton hit a trio of three-pointers and scored 16 in the contest, while freshman Celeste Colegrove added 15 in the win.

Malemutes edge Houston
FAIRBANKS — Lathrop junior John Anderson scored with eight minutes left in regulation to give the Malemutes a 3-2 win over the Houston Hawks at the Big Dipper Ice Arena in Fairbanks on Thursday.
Micah Ranum and Rye Humphreys scored for Houston.
With the win, Lathrop earned the Mid-Alaska Confernece’s lone bid to the ASAA 4A state hockey tournament, which is scheduled to start Thursday at the Menard Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla.
