PALMER - The Palmer Moose finished their home season by beating West Valley 72-63 Friday night.
The boys game was the only one played, after a scheduling conflict left the Palmer girls team with more than the allowed number of games. So, the girls just didnt play.
Chris Stringer scored a game-high 20 points for the Moose in his last regular-season game at PHS. C.J. Hooker added 17 and sophomore Zac Forsyth had 10 for the Moose.
Colony boys 98, West Valley 57
Colony hammered West Valley behind a game-high 28 points from Mike Johnson.
Colony girls 52, West Valley 36
Jessica Moore, last years player of the year, scored 19 points to lead the Knights past West Valley Saturday in a nonconference game.
Wasilla boys 46, Soldotna 30
Justin Sinor led the Wasilla offensive charge with 17 points, but defense was the key for Wasilla. Soldotnas three leading scorers were limited to only four combined points.
Wasilla girls 59, Soldotna 27
Brittney Kroon scored 18 points and shooting guard Renaye Lavin had 14 as the Warriors rebounded from a loss to Colony the previous night.
Houston boys 62, ACS 48
Billy Cannon scored 23 points and Jeff Huston had 14 as the Hawks soared past ACS on the road Friday.
Grace boys 96, Houston 70
The Hawks fell despite getting 22 points from Huston. Grace Christian is undefeated in conference play.
ACS girls 62, Houston 34
Sandy Vial scored 14 points for the Hawks, while Vanessa Fridley and Stephanie Smith each added eight points for Houston.
Grace girls 57, Houston 44
For the second night, Vial, Smith and Fridley led the Hawks in a losing effort. Vial had 16, Smith had 11 and Fridley added 10 points in the loss.
Grace boys 98, Su Valley 69
The Rams fell to the Grizzlies despite getting 18 points from Jeremiah Moore.
Grace girls 83, Su Valley 47
Danielle Pratt led the Rams with 10 points, while Desirae Strang and Margaret Denkewalter each had nine points for the Rams.
